-

You simply walk around the truck, unlatching the four locks, and then push up on the handles at the rear. To close, you’ll just pull the top down, then relatch the four exterior locks, and you’re ready to hit the trail!
-
What are the advantages of a camper shell over a roof top tent?Yes. To add media follow these steps: A camper shell really converts your truck bed into a livable space. While a roof top tent merely gives you a place to lay down, a camper shell gives you the ability to stand up, and store your belongings, in the same place you’re sleeping in is game changing. No need to get out of the truck to get ready for your adventure!
-
What are the advantages of hard side walls over canvas side walls?Hard side walls can withstand harsh weather like wind, snow, and rain, much better than canvas side walls. That means you and your family stay comfortable and warm. The walls are made of aluminum composite, which is naturally water resistant, lightweight and durable. Our side walls will stand up to years of abuse, where canvas wears out over time and needs to be replaced.
-
Can the camper be made to fit my truck?Yes! Oru campers can be built to fit any truck bed. The pop up tent portion is universale at about 5’ x 9’, then the base is custom built to your truck bed dimensions.
-
Will it fit in my garage? What is the height of the camper when closed? The height of the camper when closed is about 8” from the top of your truck cab. If you choose the Maxxair Fan add on, it will add another 5″ of height above the roof. Whether it will fit in your garage really depends on your truck model, lift, bed rail height, etc.
-
Do the campers have vertical sidewalls, or angled in sidewalls? The camper side walls are optimized to fit the queen sized bed platform. On most mid-sized trucks, this means the walls are vertical. However, on most full-sized trucks the sidewalls are slightly angled in. It’s a custom fit to each truck, and depends on the width of your truck bed.
-
What is the benefit of a straight wall vs a wedge-style pop-up?Maximizing space! While wedge-style tents are low profile and offer a more traditional camping tent feel, they offer less interior space than the straight-wall style pop-up. Making it more difficult for two people to share the same space. Full pop-up sides make it easy for one person to sit up in the loft, while another is prepping for the day down below.
-
How much standing room is inside? When popped up, the interior height is about 6’6”, plus or minus a couple of inches depending on the height of the bed rails
-
How big is the sleeping platform? How much weight can it hold? The sleeping platform is 60” x 80”, or a queen sized bed, and can hold up to 500lbs point load.
-
Does the sleeping platform slide?Yes! The sleeping platform is removable. When you want access to your truck bed, simply fold your bed and bedding up and slide the panel back giving you tons of vertical space!
-
Can I leave my bed up when the camper is closed?Yes, you can leave your mattress and bedding in place when the camper is closed! Our camper is designed for ease of use, and the ability to get right in bed with little set up time is great after a long day on the trail.
-
Can I stand up inside with the sleeping platform down?Yes, there is space at the end of the sleeping platform, so you can get in and out of bed, and stand up, inside the camper while the sleeping platform is down.
-
Does it come with a mattress? You can order your custom camper with or without a mattress. The Adventurer and Pro packages come standard with a 4” memory foam mattress. Or, we can add one to your Weekender for an extra $330.
-
How far does the camper hang over the cab?The tent portion of the camper is universale size at about 5’ x 9’. If your truck bed is 6’ long, the tent portion will hang over the cab about 3’.
-
How easy is it to open the top?Very! The gas struts on the side, paired with the exterior handles, make it easy for one person to open or close the top by themselves. It only takes a few seconds to unlock the exterior latches and pop the top.
-
Is the camper water tight?Though truck beds themselves are not water tight or dust proof, we try our hardest to make our campers as water and dust proof as possible.
-
Are you able to put crossbars on the roof?Yes. We offer crossbars as an add on.
-
How much weight can be stored on the roof? The roof is made of a polymer honeycomb, and can support up to 500lbs on a point load right in the center. Checkout this video of us testing our roof platform here.
-
Why is it constructed out of aluminum and not steel bars? The strength of aluminum is comparable to that of steel, but weighs 66% less. Paired with our meticulously engineered shell design, our aluminum campers are built to be nearly indestructible while keeping the weight down to work with any truck payload.
-
Does it have locks?Yes, all side doors and windows have locks that use a single key.
-
